Once in a class, teacher Sri. Kuvempu explained a stanza from Nagavarma's Kadambari Sangraha and the interest it held. A student got up and said he could not understand it. Sri. Kuvempu explained it again. The same student got up once again and said he could not still understand it. Sri. Kuvempu explained it once again. The student sang the same song again. Sri. Kuvempu then told him, 'see, with any number of lamps lit, you can not remove darkness from the Dandakaranya.
